What is cashless payment and what are the benefits?
Cashless payment means paying without using cash. Instead, an RFID chip attached to your festival wristband is used for all payments across the festival grounds and serves as your digital wallet.
What are the benefits for you?
- You can top up your RFID chip before and during the festival, so you can safely leave your wallet, cash, and bank cards in your tent or car and avoid losing them
- Fast and easy payments reduce waiting times and queues
- No risk of errors when giving change
- All your purchases are visible and trackable online at any time
- You can download receipts for all your transactions
- You can request a refund of any remaining balance easily and free of charge after the festival via the cashless portal

How can I top up credit before the Hurricane Festival?
We recommend topping up your balance in advance via our cashless portal starting Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 12:00 PM, so you can avoid queues on-site and enjoy the festival right away.
Simply follow these 5 steps:
- Visit the Hurricane cashless website and create your account using your email address
- Enter your details, set a password, and link your ticket by entering the number below the barcode
- Click “Top Up +” and choose the amount (minimum €10 per top-up)
- Select your preferred payment method and complete the payment
- Your balance will be available in your wallet, and once you receive your wristband at entry, your credit will already be linked and ready to use

Which payment methods can I use in the cashless portal?
You can use:
Debit / EC card, Credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Maestro), PayPal

How do I link a ticket bought from a private seller?
Tickets purchased through private resale may cause issues. We cannot guarantee their validity, and they may already be linked to another account. In that case, you won’t be able to create your own cashless account.
Please only purchase tickets through official sales channels.

How and where do I get my RFID wristband? What do I need for check-in?
Bring your ticket (digital or printed) to the festival entrance and exchange it for your RFID wristband.
If you topped up your balance in advance, your credit will automatically be transferred to your chip when your ticket is scanned.
Important:
If you bought multiple tickets as a group, make sure each person uses the correct ticket linked to their own cashless account. -
Where can I get help with cashless issues on-site?
For any cashless-related questions, lost chips, or top-ups, visit our helpdesk.
Located left of the main entrance to the infield, accessible from both the campsite and the infield.

How and where can I top up my balance at the Hurricane Festival?
We generally recommend using the pre top-up via the cashless portal to avoid waiting times on-site and enjoy the festival right away.
On-site, you can:
- Scan the QR code on your RFID wristband with your smartphone
- Follow the link and top up your balance online within seconds
Alternatively, you can use our top-up stations located at:
- Next to the info point
- At the Wild Coast Stage (outdoor area)
- At the Eichenring in the southern infield (Forest Stage)
- Between Forest Stage and River Stage
- Next to the Festivalshop
- In the resort near reception
- In the Friendship / Platin Lounge
- On the VIP and Special Needs campsite
Top-up stations for guests with special needs
Lowered stations for wheelchair users are available at:
- VIP and Special Needs campsite
- Next to the info point
- At the Eichenring (Forest Stage area)
- Between Forest Stage and River Stage
You can top up your balance on-site using:
- Google Pay, Apple Pay
- Mastercard Debit, Maestro, Girocard
- Mastercard Credit, Visa Debit, VPay, Visa
Important:
For card payments, additional authentication via your banking app or browser may be required. -
Can I still pay with cash?
No – all payments on the festival grounds are made via the RFID chip on your wristband.
We recommend topping up your balance in advance via the cashless portal.
On-site, you can top up with cash at the helpdesk, but waiting times may occur.

How can I check my balance?
- Ask staff at any sales point after a payment
- Log into your personal cashless account to view your balance and transactions
Or at a top-up station:
- Select “Check balance” on the terminal
- Hold your wristband to the reader
- Your balance will be displayed

When and how will I get my remaining balance refunded?
You can request your remaining balance free of charge starting June 24, 2026, at 6:00 PM via your cashless account.
Steps:
- Log into the cashless portal
- Click “Request payout” in your wallet
The refund will be processed via bank transfer within 14 days.

Note: On-site refunds are not possible.

Which currency is used and what about exchange rates?
All payments are made in euros (€).
If you are visiting from abroad:
- Exchange rates and possible fees depend on your bank and payment method
- Please check with your bank in advance

Where and how can I pay with my RFID chip?
You can pay with your RFID chip wristband at:
- All food and drink stands on the festival grounds
- All sponsor & partner booths
- Festival shops at the campsites
Donations:
You can also make donations via RFID chip at our partner stands and NGO booths. -
Where can I pay with my RFID chip?
You can use your RFID chip across the entire festival site:
- Food and beverage stands
- Sponsor and partner booths
- Festivalshop
Donations:
You can also donate any amount via RFID at partner and NGO stands. -
What happens if I’m charged the wrong amount?
Please contact the vendor immediately so the transaction can be corrected or canceled and the correct amount charged.

How does the cup deposit system work?
A €2.00 deposit is charged for reusable cups.
- The deposit is added to each drink purchase
- When you return the cup, the deposit is credited back to your RFID chip
Note:
- You can return up to 10 cups per person
- Deposits for empty containers returned at the festival shop are also credited to your chip

I topped up my balance, but it’s not showing – what should I do?
If you topped up at a station but don’t see the balance:
- You may not have held your wristband long enough on the reader after payment
In this case:
- The amount is only reserved by your bank
- It will be automatically refunded within 2–3 business days

- How do I get a receipt or invoice?
All receipts are available anytime in your cashless portal and can be downloaded from your wallet.

What happens if I lose my RFID chip or wristband?
Report it immediately at the helpdesk so your balance can be blocked and secured.

What if my RFID chip is defective?
Visit the helpdesk to have your chip replaced or repaired.
