Camping & Sanitary Facilities

The “Green camping" area has been in operation since 2011; it places greater emphasis on waste reduction and a quieter atmosphere, and it continues to grow. At “mein-zelt-steht-schon,” you can rent tents and camping gear that have been used multiple times.

Since 2014, in addition to flush toilets and portable toilets, Goldeimer dry toilets have also been available. These do not require flushing or chemical additives; instead, sawdust is used to absorb odors and ensure hygienic use. The collected waste is processed into humus fertilizer at the Goldeimer composting facility in the Lüneburger Heide. Additionally, Goldeimer uses the proceeds to support access to sanitation facilities worldwide.
