Partnerships & Social Impact

Through Hurricane, we use our reach to promote socially relevant issues. We work closely with NGOs and initiatives and raise funds for social projects—for example, through Trasholution, deposit donations, cup donations, or at the entrances.

At the entrances, we ask business partners and journalists, among others, for donations to our partners War Child and Viva con Agua. In addition, Viva con Agua has been collecting returnable cups since 2008, with the proceeds supporting global sanitation projects. Proceeds from PET bottle deposits go to Hanseatic Help. You can find the total amounts raised in the fact sheets in the Transparency section.

We primarily pass on food rather than throwing it away. Together with Foodsharing and the Tafel, we save and donate several metric tons of food every year. And on the campground, we collect camping gear in collaboration with the Beeke Löwen and Hanseatic Help.

For many years, NGOs have been able to raise awareness of their causes through information booths. Since 2024, the Impact Village has provided a dedicated area for NGOs to offer information, festival games, and activities. By leveraging the festival’s reach, we aim to empower organizations and support projects and initiatives that champion social and environmental causes, while inspiring one another.

Would your NGO like to have a booth at the Hurricane Festival? You can find all the relevant information on the NGO portal!
